The Keros Harpist is a sculpture from the Cycladic civilization and depicts a male harp player sitting on an elegant throne holding a large musical instrument resembling a harp or lyre in his right hand. The sculpture was founded at Keros and is dated to around 2700 BC. What makes this a remarkable finding is that it is almost 5000 years old, and only 10 of these sculptures have been discovered in the Cycladic Islands of the South Aegean. The sculpture is shown at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. |
