The Stymphalian hens metope
Hercules, bearded, standing upright with a slight inclination to the right and extending his right hand toward Athena, offering her his trophy, the dead Stymphalian birds. In his left hand was holding, probably, his bow. Athena, barefoot and unarmed sitting on a rock, wearing a veil and patronage. She has her face turned toward the hand of Hercules, while the hand is about to get, rather reluctantly as indicated by the fingers, the killed birds.
